WELCOME TO THE KITTEN NURSERY



All our kittens are lovingly reared in our home and exposed to the daily riggers of life including the vacuum cleaner, washing machine, Norman's guitar playing and four small dogs to make them well socialized little bundles of fun when they are ready to leave for their new homes.

Kittens leave at 13 weeks old, this is to ensure they leave to go to their new homes having been regularly wormed, checked by our local vet, received their 2 sets of vaccinations, registered with the GCCF, and will have 4 weeks free insurance as well as a food & information parcel to take away with.

If you are considering any of our babies then please contact me for a chat and I can advise on the kittens available and which would be best for you. If I don't have any advertised at present then please call any way as I may know someone with available suitable kittens.

Unlike his brother, Dandy is a variant Selkirk Rex therefore no curls but still as lovely and with that laid back Selkirk personality. He is growing well and already starting to have a wander around his kitten pen.

Little Pewter has had a touch start for her first few weeks. Mum Poppy had an emergency C-Section due to another kitten getting well and truly stuck on their way out. Having lost all her siblings we have been having to hand rear her. She is staying at Amazolou.



Hand Rearing Kittens

Hand rearing kittens is incredibly time consuming and you need a dedicated approach. Baby Pewter has needed feeds every three hours morning, noon and night, and with out my lovely Mum this simply wouldn't be possible. So a big thanks to Janet for covering when I can't.

Who doesn't love a little kitten especially one that smells like baby powder and purrs at the touch? All our babies are well loved whilst with us and become part of our household, review these photos of past kittens whilst you are waiting for news on her arrivals.



2013 Kittens



We have bred not only British Blues but also Tabbies, Goldens and Blue Goldens over the years.

Once our kittens are old enough they get the chance to have a wander around the cattery to start learning new smells and senses like the 'wind'..



KITTENS 2009



When Selkirk Rex kittens are born you can tell instantly whether they are curly or straight haired variants, the curly babies have whiskers that curl around their face and the gentle curls become apparent on their coats as soon as they dry out.



KITTENS 2014



Most of the Selkirk kittens born at Amazolou are of the silver variety. I have always found that the silver coat tends to curl exceptionally well.
